I was watching a programme about the Wirral, it looks like a dead nice place. Does anyone have any information about it?

The Wirral...........wonderful place....I was born in Wallasey.I believe there is another town called Birkenhead, but as children we were never allowed to go there !!

Also, there is a large moat between the Wirral and Liverpool to keep the scousers out!

I'm originally from south wirral. The Wirral is A Peninsular Situated between the river mersey (Liverpool) and the River Dee (Chester) and has towns within such as, Birkenhead, Bromborough, Port Sunlight, Bebington, Rock ferry and Eastham. Wouldnt really recommend it as a visitors attraction tho.

It has a high crime rate. and loads of Scally's who like to think they are from liverpool and act as if they have something to prove. . I moved away as soon as i had turned 16 and came to the lake District. Now that is a place that i would recommend.

As a rule of thumb anything to the east of the motorway is a dump and to the west its dead nice.
Hey GaryBaldy....are we talking M6 or M53??
I lived on Wirral for 11 years and loved it (wouldn't have moved if it hadn't been for Mr Spudqueens job). It has been described as England in minature as it has cliffs, beaches, countryside and even it's own islands. There is decent shopping in Birkenhead (which has a large market), lots of smaller places with good local shops, and is soooo handy for both Liverpool and Chester. I'm feeling homesick now.
