Divorce-do I have to sell our house

I am in the process of getting a divorce, I currently live in the matrimonial home with my 13yr old child from a previous marriage. My estranged wife has other living accommodation, My question is: can she force me to sell our property whilst my child is at such a young age, there are no children from this marriage

It depends if your wife has adopted your child - it sounds like she hasn't, but these situations are always a minefield. Ask your solicitor, and if you don't have one, get one, or your local CAB who will outline the basic law in these matters.

No I dont think she can do this untill the child reaches 16 you could always buy her half of the house from her if possible I have been through this but they were our children but its still your childs home so the same rules may apply, good luck.
