I do think Bess should have done a lot better than she did, but I'm sure some Scottish people would disagree. However, most of the people in the top 10 deserved it. Brunel was a great engineer, and it's nice to see engineers being appreciated for once. We've got some of the best in the world, and it's about time they got a little respect. Churchill was a deserving winner, without his leadership we would be living in a very different (i.e. worse) world. I also think that we would be living in a poorer world if it wasn't for the likes of Newton and Darwin, trying to explain the world around us and beyond. I think I'm forgetting someone else I consider important, but my point is that they are all great in different ways, and while everyone had they're favourites I think it's important to remember the achievements of the others.
