nice_pear,some people are just plain a******les! You are who you are, good luck to you, small minded people like that are a waste of good air, wouldn't have thought that it should be allowed, why not enquire,it won't hurt to see!!!!!
Although police forces compile statistics on crimes deemed to be homophobic, there is no specific legislation relating to such offences.

However, it's still worth reporting the actions of this person to the police. They will probably 'have a word' and advise him that further such behavior would lead to his prosecution under Section 2 of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.

Any behaviour like this... if percevied as abusive IS classed as an assualt. It is illegal for anyone to make another person feel threatened, abused, insulted or even made to feel uncomfortable.

It is illegal and the police will treat it as that.

btw i used to train officers...
nice - pear, Len is absolutely correct. No gay man or woman standing on these shores should be subject to abuse of any type from anyone else. If the unwarrented verbal slagging you have intimated receiving is getting you down- then thats good enough reason to report the individual. Just do it.
Gratified to see that you got several supportive replies. No civilized society should condone or ignore this sort thing. Make a stand. Report him. And let his friends know what kind of person he is too - if he has any.
