Hello,

I am a 26 yr old female and am looking for ideas how to spruce up my life. I work full time and enjoy the gym and going out with friends. However, since moving to London in February I have pretty much done the same thing every week...I'm now getting very bored!

I have applied to do some voluntary work and join a running club but really need a major injection of excitement in my life!

Any ideas very welcome!

Ta, Sarah

wow if you work full time, go to the gym and go out with friends and still bored you must have loads of energy, but if you have time on your hands how about a holiday to get away from familiarity and do something different and exciting that you've never done before. how about romance? are u married , engaged or looking for some one, maybe get a boy/ girlfriend.

other suggestions

take up a couirse on aything u fancy

work in a charity shop

have a makeover new hair clothes nails ect

new hobbies

perhaps you could find and coach kids in running keep fit ect.

good luck whatever u decide to do.

hi ssg4,

There is hardly anything more u could do in London. Maybe in the summer time u may get a little more excitement. if u have holidays i suggest u go to a Caribbean island. Better yet if u are at a age to start a family do so as it is loads of fun. hope it works out

Hi sssg4, Not sure if this is your thing but I know of one or two people who were in similar situation to you and they joined a choir. These were quite large choirs which did the odd concert and they loved it. You're sure to meet lots of people, give it a thought. Try googling to find a choir near you !!
In London? Say hello to someone at random...

alfiebrady your suggestion made me laugh...can only be a good thing lol

Nice one, Sarah! All the best.

p.s. I was only half-joking, you know. I met someone really nice on a bus just recently - not everyone's a wierdo in this town!
Well what are you doing for lunch today?

Eating my lunch in the canteen with my colleagues and then maybe a walk for some fresh air! What about you?

I'd say get out more, in the literal sense. I'm in London for a few days, and I walk out of the office every lunchtime and head in a different direction. I recommend walking in London. Canteens are canteens all over, and I'm sure you see enough of your colleagues during the day.

The gym is a pretty boring and lonely way to get fit. Sports are much better, especially if they're outdoors.

Sorry Sarah, I didn't answer your question. I went for a walk and got some lunch from "the UK's first Hummus Bar".

I'd agree with Alfie's suggestion of saying hello to strangers. It's a delicate balance in London. If you start conversations with people when opportunities present themselves, they're usually quite pleasant, but on the other hand, if you suddenly lurch at people in tube stations and point out that the latest song advertised on a billboard is a cover of an old song - as a bloke did to me this morning - it can be a bit alarming.

Where do you work by the way?

oh no worries at all...that sounds quite funny what happeneed to you this morning...I wouldn't dare speak to a stranger thoug...unless I'd hada drink (or two)

I work in Blackfriars in social research...you?

I'm working in Soho for an Internet Service Provider.

It was quite bizarre having the conversation with the stranger this morning. I prefer a more gentle introduction than "That's a cover you know. _________ were singing that 20 years ago".

Still, for all the weird encounters, I've met some very nice people on trains. And they've met me too ;-)
