Cardiff is a nightmare at the best of times. Don't even attempt parking in the city centre.

You could go to Cardiff Bay and use the parking there, it's then a nice 15-20 minute stroll into the city centre or take the bus.

A lot of people park in Newport and get the train to Cardiff (15 mins)

For some matches they have a park and ride from the M4 junction

I have driven to Cardiff for a match before and it's a nightmare, not only the parking but getting out of the city afterwards. Yesterday I went by train all the way which was much better. Loads of people did go to Newport to park their cars and just took the train from there.

Me and my b/friend went to see U2 there last year and we parked by some hotels, on the street.

Go towards the bay: you will go past the train station, under the bridge, turn left, then past some council building - around that area you will find lots of hotel chains (holiday inn or jurys inn...that kind). It's quite safe to park around that area and easy to walk back - its about 10 - 15 mins from the town centre.

Just make sure one of you is sober enough to find the way back!

Swindon or Haverfordwest

A few people do Hereford & get the train from there

I went in February and stayed at the travel inn in Cardiff Bay (although it's actually nowhere near the bay), it is a good 10-15 min walk from town but I would stay there and park
When you drive to Cardiff it will be sign-posted where to park, depending on which teak you support. There is then a free bus to and from the ground.

I've been a few times and it works very well... just a long drive home if you lose.

I was there last month for the Football League Trophy final and went by bus. It was a big enough nightmare getting back out of the city on the bus, let along by car! It seems ridiculous to build a stadium the size of the Millennium Stadium in a city centre with no car parking facilities near by!

When I was down last month park and ride was sign-posted on the way into the city and there seemed to be plenty of buses bringing supporters to the stadium. I would strongly recommended using the park and ride or finding an alternative means of transport.

Good luck to your team - who are they?

Your best bet would certainly be to come down early in the morning and stay at a Hotel with parking facilities, then you can savour the delights of Cardiff I was in one of the pubs opposite the stadium for the FA Cup and it was fantastic.
