I like Mikewith's answer, but I guess you're actually asking about road-crossings, eh, Xyz? If so, here's another...a Pegasus crossing, especially for horse-riders to use. It seems a bit of a misnomer to me because Pegasus was the winged horse, so why doesn't it just fly across? Of course, you wouldn't find a Pegasus in a zoo either!

I know this isn't a crossing, but you can also get dragons teeth - which are the triangle shaped markings either side of the road, normally at school crossings etc.
