is there any other way of finding a nice flat to buy in glasgow that's not going to cost me a fortune - i'll be living in a dinghy on the clyde at this rate

Depends on where you want to live in Glasgow and what you mean by a fortune.

www.rightmove.co.uk is good you can just put in the amount you have to spend and it comes up with everything.

The cheapest I found was about �35k .. wow !!! but that is in need of modernisation .. but there are plenty on there if you go higher.

have you tried S1 homes.
