For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Gale you called it homework yourself and it's a degree.
Next time don't leave it to the last minute and you will have plenty of time to do your research.
And maybe it wasn't a dig at you, maybe you genuinely did need help - however there are loads of people who post 'homework' questions on here when they could look up the answers themselves faster than waiting for someone to reply. Perhaps you were unfortunate enough to get classed as one of them.
And it's not nice doing a post abusing another member.
Don't you think calling another AB user "sick" is a little OTT in this instance? If I remember correctly you also hoped that when I was elderly and "smelt of wee" that I'd recieve no help in my dotage- all seems rather like childish temper tantrums from a child rather than an adult of 23.
May I suggest you settle in and get to know established members before you start shouting your mouth off Gale?
Gale_Snail you say you are 23 yet on a post on 8/6/06 you say you are helping your 9 year old...hmmm doesnt quite sound feasible to me
Why dont you suggest to AB that we have "homework help" section - that way if people want to help they can go to it to see who needs help and if they dont want to be annoyed by homework questions they can ignore that section!
I don't mind helping any one but..... and I quote "I get 2 great replies which saved me a lot of trouble ".....so ......it's O.K. for us to take the trouble for something easily found on Google and then get slated in return ?
I sometimes wonder how people managed to get degrees before the age of computers ....I expect they had to work a darn sight harder.
Hahahha... seems I am not the only one who doesn't appreciate being expected to do the school work of others simply because they cannot be bothered to do it themselves, am I gale?
We are here to help people and do it because we want to help, so to have lazy kids expecting us to do all the research and writing for them gets a little bit wearisome after about the 25th post.(i know you claim to be 23 and doing a 'digree' but your childish tone tells a somewhat different story)
What kind of degree just wants a simple overall view of the four humours? I'd have thought they would want a little more information than what you could gather on a Q&A site! You know, like actually showing that you have studied the subject you are trying to earn a degree in - earn being the operative word. Your corse is little more than GCSE level judging by some of the other questions you have asked here, such as 10 gory facts about king henry hardly a degree level question!! And one of your requests being accompanied by Im rubbish at this kind of thing is hardly fitting for someone who has chosen to study the subject for 3 years is it?
Most of your questions so far have been asking us to do your homework for you.
You are fooling no-one
Listen greenie, It is frowned upon to name someone in the subject of a question just to moan about something they have said to you.
As has been said, learn a bit about the site before you go about having tantrums.
It is spoilt little brats like you that make people sick.
I am afraid that upto a point I agree with Gale Snail. I read a subject yesterday which was a valid question but ended up with a complete slanging match between two or three people who crop up quite consistently and appear to enjoy slanging other people.
I would like to enter some of the discussions ( making an exception here ) but dont because I do not want to be part of an argument.
People have the right to opinions and to ask valid questions for whatever reason, and it is upto the individual whether they wish to answer/discuss those questions.
I was not on AB when Chatterbank existed, but I am beginning to understand why it was stopped.
I agree with Corbyloon and Dilf and will answer a question, if I can regardless of the reason ( provided it does not break rules.)
I will now stand back and watch the flack come my way.
You couldn't make it up, could you? "I'm 23, with a 9-year old child, doing a digree[sic], but I still have trouble with punctuation and spelling".
Never mind a 'homework' section what about a more general 'coursework' section, where people could post their actual assigments/homework in full, and get the whole thing done for them in one go rather than in dribs and drabs?
I'd imagine this would also have the happy side-effect of increasing the pass-rates.
If someone asks a reasonable question then I don't have a problem helping out and answering. I don't think it matters if the person is doing their homework, private study or just adding to their general knowledge.
I've actually found Gale_Snails's questions interesting and have enjoyed re-visiting subjects I haven't touched on for twenty years. I've also taught my two young daughters new things by using Gails questions and I appreciate that.
The fact is, most answers on AB could be found searching through sites on the Internet. AB is just another resource and is there to be used.
Keep asking the questions Gail_Snail and good luck.
Another way of looking at it is that if everyone found the answers then there would be little need for Answerbank and alot of people would not have fun in answering general knowledge questions.
Besides which, apart from the enjoyment I get sometimes in finding an answer that someone else has'nt got, I find that my General Knowledge is increasing as I am learning things I never knew. I am no good at Cryptic Clues or Deltoids so I rely on general knowledge to keep me occupied and will always try and find an answer.
Certainly my experience in wording queries on Google and Ask in order to find obscure answers has increased.
