I am translating from Polish into English and would like to ask you what you think about these two sentences:

Having regard to the Data Protection Act of 29 August 1997, and your need to process my personal data, I consent to you doing so for the sole purposes of recruitment and selection.

I consent to you processing my personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act of 29 August 1997 for the sole purposes of selection and recruitment.

Which is the best? Are they correct?

I think the second choice is better, but it becomes more authoritative if you begin the sentence with "For the sole purpose..." don't you think?

If the first option started:

With regard to the Data Protection Act... (instead of Having)

I think it would read better than the second, but both would then be correct.

In ENglish, you dont need the 28 August...Data Protection Act 1997 suffices
