Is it possible to actually die of boredom? Thanks (PS - I know that this has been asked before but I thought that there might be some new opinions!)

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.In a way yes. Some older people who have been working for most of their lives until say, their late 40's find themselves 'bored' and no longer feel they have a purpose in life, once they retire.
It could be because they feel work gives a sense of structure to their lives. These people have a greater tendency of falling into depression (if they dont have families or a support network) , and becoming more prone to illnesses etc and so, cut their life expectancy short by many years.
