i am new to this site and did not understand it at first, but why is it that mikewith and darthvader seem to be asking/answering most of the questions?

Can't speak for myself but I can say that darth vader (being a Jedi Knight) knows all, sees all and, following the collapse of the Evil Empire, has far too much time on his hands.

After reading the JFK conspiracy theorists on another question I'm convinced that mikewith & Darth are one and the same person. To prove my conspiracy theory mike/darth will strenuously deny this!

After losing the death star things went from bad to worse; i lost my helmet in a card game, someone nicked my light sabre whilst i was in the bath, and the final straw was being rejected by Luke S as a bad father (he's now receiving counselling). I retired to North Yorkshire and bought a small computer hoping to write my memoirs and sell them to the News of the World but since Mr Lucas decided to make more films i'm not sure what my history is or was anymore so i'm reduced to answering questions on AB in a quest to find the meaning of life, the universe, and why i wheeze when i breathe even though i don't smoke.

but seriously. I am a bit of an AB addict and wish to share my knowledge as well as gaining knowledge from others' answers. This is a cool site and being 32 i have quite a collection of unanswered questions myself, which have popped up in my life at one time or another and the site is perfect for answering them. Finally, I think you'll find there's quite a gang of regulars who answer the questions also as andy suggests, not just me and mikewith. May the force be with you......

hey button don't bite the hand that feeds mate! and no-one actually thought to mantion to the questioner that mike is the editor of the site! tut-tut....there are a gang of "regulars" who flit about the site....if you hang about for long enough you'll see the names ravenhair, andy hughes, beenee, pinotage (where he?), flirty41, xyzzyplugh, tartanwizard and meself amongst many others are usually somewhere about.......good luck and thanks for stopping by hope you become a regular too!

PS mike will you please try and fix the IE6 crashing problem....it's got much worse and it's now happening everytime i post an answer which is more than mildly annoying.

Try asking an internet/technology question and you will find j2buttonsw giving you all the right answers. It depends on what your question is as to who answers it. I'm fairly new to the site but asked a question on my first visit and got advice that worked and a wide range of viewpoints. Some were sensible and some very funny. That did it for me and I'm hooked. I bet many others have had a similar experience and like me, pop in regularly to be entertained and informed.

i agree with Woodpam - you will see that different people have different expertise areas - Quizmonster is the guru of phrases and sayings, for example.....
