Does anyone know where I can find a map on the web of the english and welsh county councils please? All the maps I can find show counties (Avon, Cleveland etc) which aren't nec county councils.

Cheers Teagirl, but thats of the boroughs. Do you know if there is a map of the COUNTY councils at all please. I am so rubbish at searching the web. Came upwith loads of info on the councils but no maps

Sorry, I didn't really look at it that closely. Only the grey ones are unitary authorities. The others are split up into districts (where the coucnty council doesn't deal with all aspects of local governement, but some is dealt with by district councils) Hope you follow my drift. Look it up in wikipedia-it explains things better than me. Not sure where you'll find the info you're after sorry.
County councils follow the county boundaries.
we use geoplan for our maps, might be worth giving them a try
Cleveland is not even a county any more, was split into boroughs a few years ago
