I live in Devon, and have visited Padstow and surrounding little places quite abit. Yes, I'd definitely recommend a trip to Padstow, also Polzeath and Port Isaac, both fairly close. That part of the north cornwall coast is beautiful - the water was a bright clear green colour around the base of the cliffs. Reminds me, I must go down there again soon!
Adore Padstow, have spent many a holiday there, great place. Best and freshest clotted cream from Eades Dairy.
Rick Stein Seafood (need I say more), fresh crab sarnies from the front, and don't know if it's still there but the Old Custom House restaurant lovely grub!! Walking up that long road (senior moment) past the manor house (landed gentry/hyphenated name) picking wild blackberries! Watching the sand dredger at work, then getting the boat over to the beach..........happy memories........
I live in Cornwall and love that area. Especially the coast between Constantine Bay and Port Isaac, Port Quinn is my fave little hideaway for a bit of fishing and swimming in the inlet.
My favourite place!!! Have you walked across the field to the monument and would you agree the view from there is amazing. Stretches of beautiful sand if the tide is out and beautiful clear blue water if the tide is in. We were lucky enough to see the dolphins playing in the estuary. Perhaps we should keep this our secret we don't want too many people knowing about Padstow
Ooh, Padstows lovely, but then there's lots of beautiful places in Cornwall and Devon so I couldn't possibly say which was my favourite. But as you siad Yvonne, maybe we should keep it to ourselves, don't want the place over run with tourists!!!!
