The authority running the London district of Harringay spells itself Haringey Council. Why the difference?

My bet its the PC brigade going OTT again ie HarrinGAY, we can't have that so change the A to an E

It's nothing to do with being politically correct. The place, Harringay, is in Haringey. Both names are taken from some old Saxon or Viking name in the area.
