fear of change

ok, iam afraid of a lot of things (silly things, not skydiving or anything phisical that could harm me) and everyone says i just have a fear of change. i am afraid to get my haircut into a different style, i am afraid to redocarate my room, and now i have a choice between going n a long holiday to a place i really dont want t go to, or starying with my cousin in ireland who is my age, and who i am really close to for about 18 nights. its quite a long time but i have to make a choice, go with my family or stay with my cousin. we do get on but im afraid i might have to hang around with her mates on her mates estate again (so boring!!!) PLEASE HELP!!!!

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I am not intending to be alarmist or cruel here, but my eldest son has very similar unreasonable fears and though he is very intelligent and has a brilliant mind, he does have slight autism, which causes him to be agitated by anything that changes his surroundings or the routine of his day. It is really not noticeable to other people but I have been aware of it since he was about 11. It only causes problems if things are not made very clear and advance warning of any changes given, he is able to adjust to the idea in his own time then. i have always thought that he would grow out of it but he hasn't, it is such a minor thing in his life though and quite manageable with foresight.
