I am after an aerial view in a single frame of an area several times larger than what the Ordinance Survey have, and Getmapping do not yet cover this part of the UK. Does anyone know where I might try - sattelite image might do if available. Also, there used to be a company called Skyview, (based in Leeds, I think) who had a large library of past photography going back decades but they seem no longer to exist. Does anyone know what happened to their stock (i.e. who bought it)?

I enquired at my local flying club and found several people who made a hobby of aerial photography and were willing to do my grounds as per my requirements for a nominal fee plus processing and development costs (certainly smaller than a pro outfit)
try going to www.multimap.com and going to aerial views u can zoom in and out giving a bigger aerial view

I thank both respondents above. Multimap is no use because their photo search defaults to getmapping and (see my original spiel) do not cover the area in question (there are big tracts of the UK outside their coverage to date). Amateur photos would not do because I want a good definition print taken vertically, not just out of the window using an ordinary camera - this is done using special cameras, often looking through the floor of the aircraft or else mounted on a jig in a pod outside it. These sorts of views are readily available abroad, including in many countries where they are to be seen at the receptions of local police, fire station, council offices, etc. Apart from cost, they are no more difficult to get hold of than, say, a spare copy of the telephone diractory. This country has not quite caught up yet. Any advice regarding a search is welcome.
