Nail Clippings
24 Answers
I work in a large open plan office. There is a member of staff within a department that seems to think it is ok to clip his nails at work, so far its only been his finger nails but who knows where it could lead, perhaps his toe's too?... He is rather old, nearing retirement age not that it makes any difference but think he just assumes this is ok to do. I'm more perturbed at the fact that when he is doing it, his colleagues all cover their hands over their coffee cups in case of flying clippings or dead skin landing in their drinks. Does anyone else do this at work, or have come across such an issue?

A number of post were put onto AB suggesting that I was a bully but in fact I was sticking up for my other colleagues, we are turning into a society where it seem we have to accept anything that goes, stick up for yourself and get the old git sacked before he starts to smell of urine or even worst Rich Tea biscuits.

I used to have someone on my team that brought in a nail kit and sat doing his nails at work. I was gobsmacked at first that he would do it, then after i got over the shock I took him in to a private office and told him that although he thinks its ok to do so, he has to think of the health and safety issues and also that it may cause offence to other people with nail clippings floating in their cup of tea. It ended up that he didnt realise that it was a bit strange but agreed not to do it,
Best thing to do is to talk to him in private, and I bet it will be fine. Hope this helps.

OMG!, he has just clipped his nails this morning right here, there is shrapnel all around his desk and chair of where the clippings have shot off in all directions, its disgusting! - I'm very surpised his collegue next to him has complained regarding this matter.I'm sure this is something he should NOT be doing in work, more so his bathroom in private.I have just binned my cup of coffee as I could have sworn there was something floating around on the top, looked a bit like a sliver of skin. Lankeela the open plan office has always been large, several hundred people work here.
Thanks scuzzchimp, you supply endless amusement to the nation, seems everything you do backfires on you. I would like to say to everyone on here there maybe a humerous aspect to the questions but i can assure you all they are genuine subjects about real people. Scuzzchump seems very disturbed by my posts and just can't help himself putting his size 14 sandals in it -who doesn't have anything better to do now eh buttercup!, you been trawling the internet and found that?, and yes m0nkey I do believe it was an infected maggot
