In the film 'Confessions of a Dangerous Mind' Penny asks Chuck if he is an Ashkenazi jew (I'm sure I've probably spelled that wrong). What is that?

Try checking out this - http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashkenazi_Jew I think that the words refers to where the person (or thier decendents) originally came from geographically.
