looking for a place

someone told me theres a place through biddenham in bedfordshire called dereham but the only place i can find called this is in norfolk

There's a Great Denham so could Denham be confused wi Dereham?

there certainly isn't such a parish on the latest OS map and as TCL says, if it is a place u are looking for for reaserch purposes the place name may well have been transcribed incorrectly.
I have looked at the Parish Map of Bedfordshire for 1881 and there is no parish called Dereham then .

If this is a place name from a family history source, what is the source? if it is the enumerators written place of birth it should also give a county, sorry if it is not FH related.

Hi Beatlemac, I live in Bedford, and have never heard any reference to 'Dereham' in Biddenham. Biddenham isn't very big, and I also can't see any reference to it on the O.S. street map in front of me.

Were they talking about an actual place such as a house / farm with that name. Or maybe it was a street name or a location such as dereham wood? We have a place called logans fields near us and unless you have been there or you are local you won't find it listed on the OS maps.
