You have to remember that some states are smaller in area, so will have a smaller number of people within them. But theres a link here that gives the population for each of the 50 states. Some people look upon Washington DC as the 51st state. With a population of around 550521 (estimated), that's still more than Wyoming!

Bit of a guess but i'd reckon alaska might have the least inhabitants

Thanks but its Wyoming....its got 509,294 people which is about 5 people per square mile! ...god wish we had that in London!!

Are you sure it isn't Alaska? With 1.1 people per square mile, that's pretty low.

Sorry I was looking at population density, not population in numbers - it is Wyoming. But Alaska has the lowest density.
