Teacher a member of the BNP
10 Answers
If a teacher is a member of the BNP should he be allowed to teach? Since we live in a democracy and the BNP is a demoratic political party, should it make any difference? Apparently in this actual case the unions say he shouldn't be allowed to teach, and far left groups are picketing the school gates.

I am not sure why people would want to be a member of the BNP though in the first place, especially someone who has obviously got an education and a vocation that requires compassion and tolerance.
Hi, Regardless of what they stand for I think that because the BNP is a national party and a member if elected can take their seat in the Commons, then they should be allowed. Except for the reasons that Lonnie pointed out.
Whilst the BNP is a legal party I dont think there is anything you can do.
Dot, I agree with you but I am afraid that with PC and asylum seekers ect there are more people leaning towards parties like the BNP. I would not join, but there are occasions when I wonder if some of their policies, watered down a little, could be the way to go. I would never had said something like that 30 years ago. Rgds Al

Why not? Nowadays in our PC world we probably wouldn't dare object if a Muslim teacher taught in a Christian school would we? So what's the difference. You can't label all BNP members thugs just as you can't label all Muslims terrorists can you! They both have different viewpoints. I agree completely with Big Al in his second paragraph. This Country cannot cope with its genuine British Citizens at the moment ( NHS has no money, cut backs etc ) so why must we suffer when everybody else is allowed in to claim benefits from our taxes? So yes some of their policies watered down might just be a good idea before it's too late.
No I'm not a member either but isn't time to ask this government to look after its own first?.

a chap at work is a member of the BNP. He doesnt actively promote or talk about it, he doesnt attempt to distribute any leaflets or try to recruit or persuade peoples opinions on it. He's a family man, non-violent, intelligent and articulate.
Management got wind of it and he was hauled into the office and reprimanded. How is this fair?

If the NUT find out that a teacher is a member of the BNP they will be the first to call for his/her dismissal (so much for protecting there jobs, eh?).
As for dot.hawkes comments, well thats exactly what I'd expect from somebody who has a limited grasp on the actual real BNP and prefers to believe all of the phoney media biased BNP propaganda.
The BNP is not the party it was in the 80's. It has changed dramatically since Nick Griffin took leadership (which is prob why the state are trying to imprison him). After all, people are voting for them in their 1000's now in councils all over Britain.

Why do you think this answers questions? All it does is confirm the TUC ( for what they are worth ) actually supports discrimination - REVERSE discrimination that is!
Why must everyone be forced to accept a certain viewpoint just because it is PC and everyone else who disagrees is labelled racist etc? Do not confuse racism with a teacher who supports a party who would like to put a halt on over populating this small Island of ours which just cannot cope and thus is seeing a decline in standards.

I know fo 4 teachers who are members of the BNP. My brother was taught in a 'R.E.' lesson that they should all vote for the labour party as it is the only party that cares about the working classes (what a joke!) and that if they didn't vote then a horrible rascist party like the BNP would get in. What kind of unbiased opinion is that? Its not just Britain that nationalism is growing, its throughout Europe. The general public of all countries are sick of being shafted by their elected representatives. Whether we like it or not (and i personally do) the BNP will continue to grow while current governments treat its people with contempt!
