Leaky earphones
7 Answers
While on any form of public transport, I am wonderng if anyone has ever asked someone to lower their music (ie from hearing it (usually awful sounds) leaking from their earphones)? I am curious if any one has and what the reaction was. I have been tempted many times but haven't risked it yet.

This often happens on a bus or train. Rush hour when we are all grumpy from a day's toil and the yoof squashed up to you has it blaring out. Inconsiderate, selfish and arrogant come to mind. Do i say anything? Sometimes, if I'm feeling brave. Or....a roll of the eyes will suffice.
not anymore - I once made the mistake of rolling my eyes at one grumpy teenage boy (mobile phone speaker rather than mp3) and had him call me c**t in front of a packed train. When I got off at my stop, I realised that he was following me home. thankfully my boyf was waiting for me, so he ran off. don't even like to think what might have happened if boyf hadn't been there. I don't think it's worth it, you hear too many horror stories of people being attacked. Personally, if someone annoys me now, I get off the train and wait for another one.

Pingping....surely this is imtimidation at it's most ugly? Why should you get off a train and wait for another when you've a long day and just want to get home and kick your shoes off?
I sound ancient but when I was growing up in the 70's the naughtiest thing we did as kids was playing knock-down-ginger. Now we, as adults are scared of kids of 12/13/14. It sounds ludicrous that we are so threatened today by a minoraity who are intent on violent behaviour.

I've been asked to turn down my music on the tube once, i was mortified as i didn't realise how loud it was - i apologised and obliged.
I was tempted to ask someone the other day on the tube, she had some sort of love ballads mix - Bon Jovi followed by Celine Dion and it was LOUD, gave most of the other passengers a giggle mind.
