men - do the 'rules' work?????

I am very keen to find out what men think of the 'rules' as to how women should capture the heart of the man she wants (Mr Right as they call him). I met a guy back in February and have kind of followed the rules...we are both still playing games but the chase kind of came to an end when we got together last week. I'm not sure whether these rules work as I wonder whether men assume a woman isn't interested if she declines his advances. Come on all you men...I desperately need your advice as I can't keep thinking about theis guy but cant chase him!!!! p.s. if you don't know what the rules are...google search should help Thank you in advance Sarah

I didn't realise there were any rules, but I am a straightforward kind of bloke and, yes, if a woman declines my advances, I'll assume she's not interested. Let's face it, if you decline someone's advances and he doesn't give up, these days he's likely to find himslef charged with stalking.

Maybe this guy is just not into silly games :-)

There are no rules. Be yourself, be honest and take him at face value, and he should do the same. I can't stand playing stupid games. What is a man supposed to think if she declines his advances and offers no explaination. We can't read your mind!!

That the trouble with girlie mags they come up with all these silly ideas on catching a man, trouble is as men don't read these mags, we are unaware of these silly rules/ideas.

i agree with the answers thus far.silly games just mislead people. although it aint just girly mags who are to blame. On my way back from wales one of te people on the bus bought a copy of zoo and i noticed an pagge entiled "the truth about what women want ...by lucy pinder..." i just said to the guy. you'll get slapped if u do that. Persoanlly i cant stand stuff like zoo and nuts. I dont find any of the ladies in it attracive. Give me amy lee and christina scabbia any day!!!

There's two basic problems with rules:

1) As mentioned, most of us never read the book.

2) If you can find one set of rules that everyone works by in any part of life I would love to know. Also, ever noticed how the editors of girlie mags are often of the lesbian nature (not that there's anything wrong with that!), but these people are trying to tell you how to get a guy...!?

Forget chasing him, just simply tell him during a quiet moment that you think about him all the time and see what happens. Do remember however, guys get scared too and if you come on massively lovey-dovey he'll most likely run away.

We basically take most stuff on face value so just tell us straight and we'll generally give you a straight answer.

The last thing you want to do is ask someone else....you should follow your heart, and the answer will be in your head....its just finding the answer. There is no rule book or games, just your judgement. Good luck
