My granddaughter has been at school now for her first few weeks and has learned a few rhymes and songs. Their perception of them can be funny. She was singing this song: Who built the Ark? No-one, No-one.
She insists it's no-one, not Noah!
Then there was this : Who's the king of the jungle? Who's the king of the sea? Her mum finished it off with: Who's the king of the universe? Who's the king of me?
J-E-S-U-S. She wanted to know how her mum knew this as she had only just learnt it! She said her mum couldn't know it as no-one else in the class did!
Then the classic: Our Father in heaven, hello, be thy name. It's definitely hello! Can't be anything else! Brill! Have your little ones come home with some of these?

My 5 year old had done the Green Cross code at school, and came home proudly announcing that you need to Stop, Look & Listen and keep on looking and listening. Then she said "If you can't hear and you can't see how would you cross the road?" we answered that you could ask someone to help you cross the road or some people have a guide dog that helps" She thought, and then as if to catch us out said "Mmm, what if ... you can't hear, you can't see, you can't speak and ...you were bald! How would you cross the road?"
Our youngest daughter used to merrily sing 'Bare Necessities' from 'The Jungle Book' as " ... forget about your worries and your stripes ...."
Our eldest came home from school aged about six, with a Nativity picture showing Mary and baby Jesus, and a large rotund gent standing by the crib. When asked for his identity, she advised, with the patience rerserved for imbiciles that six-year-old-girls do so well "That's Round John Virgin ... as in Round John Virgin, Mother and Child!"
