new boyfriends baby

i've been with my boyfriend for just over a month and today he introduced me to his little boy. the kids is 4 years old. Kai brought him into the room and said, "this is my very good friend Lettie" and the kid started shrieking and screaming and ran back to his mother in the kitchen. he refused to come anywhere near me for the rest of the day. i don't know what to do now. Kai says the boy will get used to me and everything will be fine, but I was raised by a single father and i remember how much i hated and resented his girlfriends. Kai's son lives with his mother, but i'm sure he'll feel the same way about me. Does anyone have any advice?

The advice I would give is to step back, and let the little boy come to you. If he sees you having fun he will want to join in. He will get curious to what you are doing and hopefully he will come round. Your relationship is only early days yet so take all of it slowly and let it fall in to place. Good luck, I hope it all works out :-)
Hi, i agree with above posts.
I really wouldn't worry too much, just relax & see how things work out.
My boyfriend has a 4 year old daughter who i love to bits! she was 2 when we got together & i'd seen her a few times before as we've been friends for years but it's still been difficult at times.
It's only early days still though so just enjoy yourself & good luck!!!
