Chicago Rock Cafes are quite good. They're dotted about all over the place, do some nice food and have a dance floor. So if you got there about 7pm, you could have a meal and then by about 9pm it gets crowded and they used to only play songs up to 1986 - I think that policy has changed now and they do play more recent things, but they do play some good oldies. Failing that, How about The Blue Hawaii in Kingston. Right next to Kingston train station and its all mongolian food. The waiters are in hawaiin shirts, there's a singer throughout the evening, and a magician who goes around the tables. Then you go up to select your food (which is all raw, like diced meat or fish) and then you watch it being cooked on massive oil drums. Brilliant night out - not too rowdy, but good fun and a nice change. Enjoy! :)
