Women with grey hair
10 Answers
I think men with grey hair look very sexy indeed BUT how do you guys feel about women with grey hair. Homer's thread mainly had positive feedback, i.e. women saying yes they preferred grey hair to dying but I expect that most men would disagree about preferring women letting their natural grey show?

the thing is, life is not fair to us females because whilst men look distinguised and handsome with grey hair, we women just look bloody old and worn out! (imho) Why is that??????
Mine grows through at the roots grey now and when it needs re-doing it looks dull and ages me no end but i have just advised Homer not to dye his because i just dont think men look right with dyed hair and whats the point when it looks good anyway! If i didnt do mine i would be grey all over and as a woman of 38, thats not a good look, a man would easily get away with it though.

Yep I'm with julie. It is a case of double standards. Someone mentioned Philip Schofield earlier? He does look good, but I'm willing to bet if he was a woman we'd all be saying "wouldn't you think she'd dye her hair?"
Incidentally I've been dyeing my hair since I was 24 when I discovered grey hairs on me bonce :-( I haven't seen my natural colour for 12 years now.....I think it may be mousy brown with LOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTs of grey. I know for a fact I'm in no rush to find out!

It is a double standard - but that's the way our culture views grey hair.
I think ladies who are uniformly grey who have their hair cut in a suitable style look fine. i don;t like to see grey growing through died hair, because it implies a lack of pride in appearence.
I think most ladies with grey hair dye it for the reason they dress the way they do, wear heels, paint their nails, wear jewelry, and so on - because it makes them feel good, and amen to that.
I have no problem with a man dying his hair if he is concious of his self-image, but it needs to be done properly. Bad hair dye advertises a low self-esteem combined with an inability to address the issue - as in Sir Paul McCartney and his recent 'purple' phase!

I think dyeing your hair is a personal choice, and yes there is a double standard for men and women. I dye my hair in two ways every 3 months I have streaks of about 5 different shades of red and every 6 weeks I have the grey roots done. I do it because
a) I (and I mean I, I don't care what anyone else thinks) don't feel old enough to be grey yet
b) My skin colouring suits red hair and if my hair is grey I look like some one just dug me up from somewhere.
Having said that my grey is a beautiful platinum silver and I can't wait until I feel old enough to go natural!!
