i am trying to trace a person the surname was sooley he died in america late 30s to early 40s imigrated from portsmouth to usa around the earley 1900s does any one know his name or where i can find it.

I have had a look on the 1901 census and there are a couple of Sooley families in Portsmouth. Do you have any idea of his first name or when he was born? You can have a look yourself on www.ancestry.co.uk or maybe wait until the full passenger lists are out on http://www.ancestorsonboard.com/
