The sound of one of my nice acoustic guitar being played by someone else...normally you don't get tohear your own instruments true sound as you are stuck behind it but the odd time I am lucky enough to hear someone play them I am stuck by how beautiful they sound....either that or the beep of the microwave to tell me dinner is ready.
My favourite thing ever is the wind, so much so I've bought a house on top of a steep hill in a cul-de-sac so I can listen to it whistle and whirl it really calms me.
I agree with Trinity that the sound of wind is something magical. There is nothing better than being snuggled up somewhere warm and cosy with the wind howling round the eves of the house and the rain pelting against the windows. That and the sound of a fire crackling in the grate.....marvellous!
My son (2 years old) giggling
Freddie Mercury hitting the high notes
church organs
running water
actually my favourite is the sound of silence - not easy in the UK but you have to find a place (somewhere in a national park perhaps, which is not on a flight path - North York Moors is good for this) where you can stand and close your eyes and hear NOTHING that is man made - no cars no bikes no trains, planes, industrial noises etc., all you hear is the wind and perhaps a few birds, animals. The sea is a good place too as the noise of the waves usually removes the noise of man. If you can open your eyes an SEE nothing man amde it's even better!
I love the sound of a real fire crackling in the hearth when I have an evening in with the one I love. The other sound I love is the riffling of bank notes on pay day.
the sound of my pc connecting to the internet, and the frequency noises you used to get on old radios between stations, and that clickety noise from trains on tracks.
What a lovely question! I've been thinking for a while and decided the best one is the boiler clunking into action on a cold winter morning, knowing I've still got half an hour in bed and it'll be lovely and warm when I have to get up!!
I, too, like silence, but love the sounds of laughter, especially children's, music, my dog squeaking when I get home, rain on the roof, magpie warble, dolphins, popping corks, the sound of my favourite show starting just as my drink and snacks are ready.
