I few weeks ago i posted a question about chrisetnings and now my sister has settled on cross stichinging her something.The only problem is she dosn't know what one of her midle names means.It is Elyissia can u guys help were stumped.

rms=e10lise which are the closest I could find to 'Elyissia'.

Elizabeth comes from the Hebrew for "God is my oath" and apears in the Bible.

There are only two references to Elyissia when you Google the name so the baby should have no problems getting a relevant Hotmail account!!

What it most seems to sound like is simply 'Alicia' - a latinised form of 'Alice', so it is probably just an alternate spelling of that. Alice comes from Old French 'Adelais' and Germanic 'Adelheidis', meaning 'Noble sort'...equivalent to the more modern 'Adelaide'.

'The Modern Book of Baby Names' has a listing for Elysia (not exactly the same, but close).It's of latin origin, and means 'blissful sweetness'.It's derived from Elysium, and the other names listed as having the same meaning are Elicia and Elise.
