Simon Bates conceived the 'Our Tune' idea, and was shrewd enough to copyright it, which is why he was able to take it with him when he left Radio One for a comercial stattion. He was famous for doing the 'blurb' unscripted - as to wether it was deeply moving, or a load of old tosh is purely a matter of opinion.
