I have a friend called Chris Hicken -- or in other words C Hicken. Geddit? Chicken?! What are some of the sillier names of people you catually know (rather than ones you have read about!)?

I used to have regular customers called Mr. Christmas and Mr. Easter but the pick of the crop was a Mr. R.S. Wyper.
I had a co-worker named Art Strange. He was such a nice guy, though, no one ever felt like making fun of him.
A few years ago, while flipping through the phone book in the state of Michigan in the USA (where I used to live), I happened to notice that one woman's first name was Virgin Mary. Hopefully people call her just Mary for short, and not Virgin. Poor girl!
Oh, and I also knew a Betty Buddie. She was someone's wife, so she was his bed-dy buddy! ...Get it?! This was in the USA, where we pronounce "Betty" as "Beddy".

The Head Groundsman at Lord's Cricket Ground is Mike Hunt, but he insists on being called Mick. Why Mummy, why?
JimmyButtons, this was a brilliant question. Thanx for the laughs, I think we all need one these days!
My workmate went to school with a lad called Andrew Peacock but the used to call him Drew.
Back in my army cadet days we had a Lieutenant Hook who was promoted to Captain....
I see that my other response was deleted due to profanity, so here is the cleaned-up version! Years ago, when I was in school, there was another student whose first name was Bucky and last name was Fowles. People used to call him "F**ky Bowels". I wondered why on earth he continued to use Bucky as his nickname, when his real first name was Arlen. Using his real name would have completely eliminated all the teasing. ...We were all pretty young at the time, maybe he and his family were more innocent/naive than most, in choosing what they thought was a "fun" nickname like Bucky for a kid.
Once new a Brian Day (B Day) and Steve Cape (S Cape). Still know a Christopher Shaw (C Shaw). Never met Barb Dwire though.
A friend of mine used to go to school with Annette Curtain...
