Produce of Zimbabwe
2 Answers
The other day I saw something in a supermarket labelled 'Produce of Zimbabwe' and was in doubt whether or not to buy it. I have no desire to benefit the despotic regime which has made that country what it is today, but I am more than happy to support the European-descended farmers whose fathers and grandfathers made it what it was. Who (apart from the supermarket) would have reaped the benefit of the tiny profit from my purchase?

You may also be supporting black farmers who have murdered white farmers to reclaim land (this is not a judgment on the right or wrongs of black farmers right to obtain the land by legal means.) While I have never been to Zimbabwe I have met many white people who once did, I spent some 8 hours with one fleeing Zimbabwe in Cairo Airport, so these views are not based entirely on Newspaper reports.
