Hogging on Kazaa

I have 3 uploads going. 1 user has a participation level of 9763, another has 9759, and another has 9740, so it's steadily falling with each upload, but all 3 have different user names. It seems too much of a coincidence that 3 unique users have such similar PL's, so is 1 user constantly changing their name so it doesn't look like they're hogging, and if so, how are they managing to do it so quick when 1 upload starts a second after the last, and some are simultaneous? Have they got something that changes their user name automatically with each upload? They've had about 40 downloads in total so far and they oughta give someone else a go. Any ideas. Thanks.

Using Kazaa Lite would solve your problems. Your Participation Level goes to the absolute highest and it uses the same Kazaa network.

Thanks for replying IndieSinger. I am actually using the lite version (just sometimes forget to call it Kazaalite). I know about the 1000 constant PL cheat, but that doesn't explain the automatic name changes on what looks like the same users downloads.

This probably isn't the answer you're looking for either, but you know you can stop all uploads (to stop people downloading from your computer)?

go into DOS, run a "netstat -a" and identify which of the hosts listed is your hogger. Then edit c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts, adding a record for the hogger's hostname, pointing to 192.168.192.254 (or some other IP address that they couldn't possibly have). This should disable traffic to that hostname, and therefore disable their ability to connect to you.

I don't want to stop sharing altogether, IndieSinger, I just don't want the same user taking up all my upload slots (they've been hogging them for 2 days!), when there are other users waiting. Lisaj, I'll give that a go. Thanks for the suggestion.

Me thinks you are shareing something that is very popular and there are peeps out there that will do anything to get what they want. Maybe once they have downloaded what they want it will stop... just a thought..

Nope, just random mp3s, various genres and eras of music, some obscure, some that loads of people have. I think whoever it was just looked through my shared folder and decided to download as many as they could. I'm using the privacy patch now.
