I am looking for a job but want to advertise my skills instead of trawling job vacancies, is there a uk site where i can do this

There are loads of websites that allow you to download your CV for employers to read (try http://www.monster.co.uk/ for example). In reality I believe that very few employers actually take the time to read through these sites, they are mainly used by recruitment consultants to fill their lists. I think you would be better off sending your CV to a local or industry-specific recruitment agency, recent experience suggests that they are very persistant on their candidates behalf !
