Luxury apartments that people keep for a year or 2 then sell as they can't afford the mortgage. Blocks of offices that stand empty as the rates are too high. The only profitable place is Cardiff Bay with it's theatres/opera houses etc but, saying that there's no where to park! West Wales is much better, very little changes there and the scenery is brilliant. The old town is the same as it was years ago. We hope to move there when my hubby retire in 3 years time. Touch wood!
Britain has more people than it can comfortably hold, because it is the haven of democracy and tolerance and benefits and multi-culturalism. More houses must be built in the countryside, and not big expensive ones mark you, they have to be 'affordable'. Translated this means more and more sh$tty subsidised housing for low-paid or unpaid (except by benefits) workers. If you live in the countryside and value it, then forget it, the future is coming to you. Enjoy the fields while you have them, the future is concrete.

They want to build houses on a piece of land which is a flood plain ,it also houses the local waste water treatment plant , stinks enough when they stir it up , as all the cess pit poo goes there . So will people be happy to pay 300K to live next to that ? I think not ! But the government will let you build on a postage stamp as it's more money in taxes etc. And yes this island is over populated , not enough homes for the Brits so not enough for the rest who want to come here . There are some really lovely open spaces here but not for much longer as they are letting the developers thin out the green belt .
A small semi-detached house at the end of my road has been converted recently into 3 very thin houses. 7 cars have turned up and countless people. Good progress. Hopefully we can turn Beddington Lane into a 24-hour traffic jam. Why can't we build more cheap housing in Zimbabwe or Chad where there is limitless space ?
