Is there an Amish community in Wales?

I was in Wales a couple of weeks ago and saw a family of Amish people, is there a Amish community in Wales as i thought they only live in america.

I don't believe there is an Amish community outside of America and Canada. I was going to suggest that they may have been holidaying but surely they wouldn't use the planes? Perhaps it was some traditional Welsh festival or something and people were dressed up for that?

I was on holiday in Delaware a couple of years ago and there were about 16 Amish people on a trip at the beach. They did arrive by minibus but was told by my Sister that as long as they did not drive it, they could travel on some sort of modern transport. They hired the minbus and a driver.
Maybe they did fly over for a holiday but unlikely.

Hey, cambus, watch what you say about the Welsh! (only joking) - it might have been a local folk festival or something as the Welsh national costume looks a bit like Amish to the uninitiated. It would be nice to think that Amish people come to Wales for their holidays, though (do they take holidays?).

Amish do take planes. Saw a couple and their kids at Denver airport a couple of years, ago clutching their airline tickets.

Well they could have been Mennonites.
Amish tend to be concentric to the US and Canada, but Mennonites and Anabaptists are worldwide. There is a Mennonite church in London, not sure about Wales.

ronnie3 the Llangollen International music Eisteddfod was on a few weeks ago and had competitors from over 50 countries who wear their national costume, so it could be that the people you saw were Amish or something very similar.cambus we live exactly the same as everyone else in Britain but have nicer scenery.

The amish are of german descent, we have german in our blood line and I have been told that it's Pa. Dutch. Or German roots that we have in us. If you've ever heard the Pa. Dutch they do have a very German like accent. often the dress code is just like that of the Germans ancient dress.
