remote english location

does anybody know of any really remote town in england? like in the midle of a valley so there is only 1 or 2 entrances? imagine a place like silent hill. somewhere like that. without the ghouls of course.

I cant think of anything even close to this. my town has thosands of ways in. not just roads though. i mean like a cat can climb over fences between buildings etc. thats no good. i need somewhere that it is neigh on impossible to get to without using this or that road

Calder Vale, near Garstang in Lancashire is the closest I can think of at the moment. There is only one road in and it is in a valley so it would be possible but not likely to get in other ways. I would say it is nigh on impossible to get in other than by a couple of ways, not neigh (unless you're talking about a horse!).
