Threatening Behaviour (also in A&N)
10 Answers
Hi lovely people. Not sure if I mentioned a while ago an incident involving a woman who lives down the back street where I walk Jack last thing at night (because it is well-lit, quiet etc. unlike my front street).
Essentially, she FALSELY accused me of not picking up after my dog (I do, and she hadn't seen any evidence to the contrary, as she'd never seen him "go")and then her and her son threatened to at their huge white boxer on me and Jack. It was late at night, I was going home to an empty house, and frankly I was bl**dy scared!
Anyway, I reported the incident, I didn't discover until tonight that the PC HAD managed to speak with the woman (well, he never told me!) but I don't know the outcome-PC is off sick.
Well, it happened again tonight, and I can't understand what her issue is. Serious attitude problem? Little woman syndrome? I reported her AGAIN, but I know nothing will come of it, and it is so frustrating. I mean Christ, I have never seen her walk or feed her dog, or indeed pick up its poo, but I am assuming she does all three!
I just wondered what motivates people to act the misguided vigilante. I mean, knowing someone doesn't "pick up" is an entirely different story and is well worth discussing with someone, as long as you don't endanger yourself or your dog-but she has no idea. So now it's late, and I am fed up and frustrated. I also know my partner will want to go round for a word, but that would interfere with the police procedures. Which will come to nothing until it happens again. ARGH! Where will it end, an injunction? I don't have the time for petty games, I have a life.

Hi Leela :o)
Hope you managed to get some sleep and not lay there all night worrying about this stupid woman.
She certainly sounds like she has an attitude problem esp since the police have had a word and yet she has carried on at you.
If you can, try to vary what time you go out for a walk so if she is watching for you, not only is she wasting her time but at least you may get some days of peace from her.
If she continues ranting at you, ignore her and just keep on walking but make sure you report any threats to the police straight away. If need be get her done for harressment.
Stupid bloody woman, she wants to come down my way and rant at a few of the idiots here who actually are just letting their dogs c**p everywhere!!!
Hope she leaves you alone Leela, I hate situations like this and wouldn't want it to happen to me.

Wingnut, thank you so much flower....It IS frustrating, and completely misdirected-I HATE that a minority of owners don't pick up-if she knew me, she would damn well know that!!
Good idea re. the varied times-usually she is out quite late, so it's only if I run on a bit and Jack's last walk is after 11 that we tend to encounter her. She has issues!! I am a reasonable person, and if there was a mutual problem, I would be happy to come to a solution together, but I don't have a problem, and her problem is somewhat imaginary! I hate conflict, so it's not a situation I revel in.
legend, thank you :) A little keen, but same to you re. xmas!

Some people eh!. You gotta be careful though, if they are threatening you with their dog....did you tell the PC about that? Just an idea, when you walk Jack, I know its petty, but why dont you wait till he 'goes' before you go anywhere near her property. that way, when she sees you, she will see that you have a nice little package in a plastic bag like every other responsible dog owner. If she says anything, show her the bag and invite her to inspect it! Although, I also agree with Wingnut, vary times, or avoid the woman altogether! best of luck x
dmsymr, thank you :)
The thing is Jack doesn't "go" at night (believe me I have toyed with the idea!) so she has no idea what she's on about anyway!
Police have been again, but prior to that my partner went for a word-the young lad (woman's son) apologised, promised to hve a word with her and said he would expect his partner to be safe walking the dog too, and that from his POV there was no problem.
Hmm...!

Hi again Leela!! :o)
How did you get on last night? Did she come out? Hopefully she's got the message after your partner having a word with her son. I hope he means what he says about there not being a problem from his pov, if not just keep reporting her as she should not be allowed to get away with this threatening behaviour. Life's hard enough without idiots like her causing trouble.
Take care and all the best xx

wingnut and dymsmr, thank you lots :)
No problem last night, let's see how tonight is! Apparently she now has her own place and only visits, but all the more reason to keep her mouth shut! Will take it further if she does it again, however for now I am happy to leave it at that!
All I have to worry about now is fireworks going off from 12pm-midnight and kids running through my yard (although my dog made them think twice!) x

Hi Leelapops :o)
Just wondering if you have had anymore trouble with this woman? Or has it all been sorted out? I do hope so as life is hard enough without nutters like her causing trouble!
Sorry to drag up your old thread but didn't want to post a new one incase you didn't see it.
Anyway, hope things are going well :o)
