I've come in late on this subject but I too would like to know what happened to Celestine. I have asked at several music stores to see if she has recorded anything but nothing so far. She was brilliant and at the time she was still at school so maybe she has gone on to university/ college. Should we contact the BBC to see if they have any information. I heard back in 2000 ish that she had been signed by Sony but that doesn't make sense.

Jan, how on earth did you find this question which is well over a year old?

As you have seen, there were no answers so it is a bit of a mystery.

Let's see if we can find an appropriate section of the BBC web site to ask the question. Keep an eye on this thread.

I note that you would to know what has happened to Celestine Walcott-Gordon since she won the programme's live final in 2000.

If I may explain, BBC Information receives hundreds of thousands of requests each year for information about specific items in our programmes. We are pleased that we can usually provide answers to nearly all the enquiries we receive. However, occasionally the information requested is not available on our very comprehensive database and, due to limitations of time and resource, we are unable to conduct the further research necessary to provide a comprehensive response. As you can appreciate, the expenditure to do this can only come from the licence fee, resulting in resources being diverted from the primary function of the BBC, which is to provide programmes. You may already be aware that a cd from the series entitled 'Star for a Night' was released in October 2000 on the BBC label and included Celestine's version of 'Feeling Good'.

Dude, I have found the Star for a Night CD on Amazon.co.uk and it has Celestine on it. The postage and delivery cost more than the CD! Can't wait to receive it.

Celestine's coming back in a big way very soon! She has a website now which is currently under construction - www.celestinemusic.com or www.celestineonline.com - they both point to the same site. As the site is developed more facilities will be added, but please bear with us for a while. It'll be worth it!
