I have a document which I need to sign in relation to the sale of a house... my signature needs to be witnessed by a "Commisioner for Oaths". How much will he charge for this?
I agree, but it doesn't need to be witnessed by a Commissioner for Oaths, merely a Solicitor holding a Practising Certifcate. Commissioners for Oaths are becoming almost as rare as Notaries Public.
No, it definitely needs to be a Commissioner for Oaths. The house is in Scotland, and under Scots Law the affidavit has to be signed by a Notary Public or a CfO.
