Are the scots ruining England??

Obviously with the scots and welsh having there own little parliaments now , should the scots involved with the English parliament now move on and find positions within there own parliaments ? thus Giving the English chance to put forward Ideas that will benefit England ?? It just appears on all the news programmes there are such a lot of scottish accents gassing off about this and that , appointed spokespersons for us all I know but should they not be representing the country they love the most ?? or am I out of touch ...??

Might it be a good idea for England to hold a referendum to decide wether it wants to keep subsidising Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland rather than let them have what they consider to be a little parliament all to themselves? I don't know much about the Scottish one but the Welsh one is a bit of a toothless tiger, also far too many Scottish MPs deciding on the future of England, that should be stopped at once. why should they be allowed to vote on health and education issues in England?

i think it works both ways , had a chat with a true londoner , and he was a nice bloke and his words to me was ,wales scotland and ireland has an identity england has none, and that made me proud, at least he was honest and i will respect him for that ( andy if you are out there and spoke to me you are a nice bloke}

Hi shanx, there is some truth in what andy had said to you, I am a Londoner and am proud to be English, but unfortunately quite often if we wave the Cross we are considered Rascist, if the other countries in the Uk do they are patriotic, I know a lot of this stems from football and what the BNP does but it does not help, I live in North Wales and know what he meant as the people here feel they belong, A lot of us Londoners felt we were unwelcome in our own Capital it is very sad really.

There was some of that crap legend but it really was so blown out of proportion, only about half a dozen houses if that, were set alight and all were holiday cottages, the people where I live are great, very warm and welcoming, not anti English at all, and I feel I belong here more than I do in London. I agree with you shanx it does make you think and we have lots to think about don't we.

I am ENGLISH not British!
I was born in England not in Scotland,Wales or any other area or country.
Why are the English not allowed to have their own identity the same as everyone else.
when someone stops me in the street and asks some questions while they fill a form in, when they get to the part where they ask me what nationality i am i say English but low and behold there is no box for them to tick and i generally end up fighting my corner.

This rears its head so many times its tedious.
We in Scotland didnt get the Scottish Parliament handed to us -we had to lobby for it and it makes sense as we have a different Law System,Health Service, Policing.
Westminster is a totally different scenario and obviously MPs are made up of all nationalities.Why shouldnt we have a say in for example where our Troops serve -yeah its the British Army.

BTW -Scotland are NOT subsidised by the English or anyone else - that makes me laugh.

I really just dont get this - 'Scotland are ruining England' -if it comes down to it then the English are making a good enough job themselves - try actually motivating yourselves by lobbying to the relevent people re having your own devolved parliament instead of having yet another swipe at the Scots (yawn).

Then we can all live in harmony and allow Westminster to deal with issues which affect us all Nationally.

O when it comes to it BTW i'm Scottish -nothing wrong with being patriotic -its be applauded.
