where can i stay cheaply in london?

My apologies if this question has been asked (and answered) but upon searching I could not find anything as mundane as my following query. All you fellow ABers are much more widely travelled than I, as I cannot afford to go abroad for a holiday.
My request is this: I need to stay for about a week in London, but cannot really find any accommodation I can afford. It would have to be about the 40-45 per night mark, include breakfast and be within walking distance of a tube station. I know that London is one of the most expensive cities in the world, but surely one of you ABers knows a hotel which even ordinary people can afford.
Thanks in advance for any answers.

Any of the above should be fine. You may be able to get rooms on some of the hotel booking websites or directly through the hotels. They are all on the same street, which is 5 minutes walk from Euston and 10 minutes walk from St Pancras and Kings Cross.

Though I have no knowledge of them at all, except I have seen them advertising on the net. The first hotels I can vouch for the area. It is a decent area, though most of the other buildings in the street are student accommodation.

Hi, cheapest areas to stay are around for central London are paddington (sussex gardens area) but a lot of the hotels are a bit grim, but they are pretty cheap, have a look at this link, the places are allclean and prices not too bad, good luck, enjoy London, its a great place. Ray
