shengen visa

ive tried numerous times to call spansh embassy for visa for my thai wife...also tried web site but all i am getting back is that we have to make the visa application in person at embassy.....oes this mean travel to manchester to the consulate? surely i can apply by post? when visa form appears online i try to download the document but then it says the web page cannot open or cannot find server...help pls!!!!!!!

With heightened security concerns, many countries now only accept visa applications in person, rather than by post. Your wife must make an appointment at the Spanish consulate in London or Manchester.

Most of the links on both the London and Manchester consulates' websites, to get a visa application form, do indeed appear to be dead. However, this one worked for me:
