Friends Reunited

Has anyone here seen the new and improved Friends Reunited site? Now that it is free will you be using it more(or at all)?
I quite like the new format they have and have already been in touch with one old friend/boyfriend. I am always amazed when on there that a lot of my classmates have never left the estate we grew up on and yet I have moved all around the country and am now living 160 miles away from my home town of Leicester. I hate to be in one place for too long!

Yer I got the e-mail saying it was now free, but more people on facebook so I dont bother with it

I wouldn't have bothered with it but I was informed that an old school frind had left me a message so I went and had a look. I do still go on facebook more though.

In fact, I've already got a message from an old school chum!!

I found one of my old judo club pals from the 60's, he lives in Canada and he will be coming to my wedding in the States next year and i am going to his, i am really pleased about it.
I also found some of my Royal Navy buddies, one that i was very good friends with.
Good old FR.

The only way its better than face book is that it seperates everyone into year they left school, alot of woman I knew have changed their names so I will never find them on facebook

I find it really funny that some of the people who are listed as leaving my school in the same year as I did are actually from a different year.How can you not know what year you left school?

Ah but I was at high school 1990 to 1994, one of my best mates left in 1993 when she moved away but if she put that she would go into year below so she had to put 1994

The worst thing about FR is that though you may remember the names of half the people, you can't remember whether you liked them or not!

Saying that though, I've just been on and messaged all the names that i do remember, never messaged any of them before as I was too tight to pay....lol

My eldest son was contacted via Friends Reunited about 4 years ago by a girl he was at school with 10 years earlier. They got married last year and recently had a baby girl. Also I was contacted a couple of months back from the girl who brought my wife and I together. We hadn't been in touch for 35 years and it was wonderful to hear from her again.

I didn't know it was free to send messages now. I contacted all my old friends a few years back, but have just been on the site and looked for old work colleagues. I'll message them later. Thanks for the thread, Daffy. x

See I tend to think that if you were that close in the first place you wouldn't have lost touch. I'm still in touch with friends from secondary school and college that I want to be in touch with. The rest were just of their time and that's gone now and I've no curiousity about them. Though I suppose it's nice to have the option.

It was through Freinds Reunited that a few of us got in contact again and as a result, we had our first school reunion for our year last October and most of us are now keeping in contact through facebook. There have been a couple of people I want to contact and havent found them on facebook so now I can through freidns reunited :)

Every year I meet up with an old flame - it's really funny and they all seem fatter and more horrible than I am! Love it!!

Every single one of my school mates (that I can find pics of on friends reunited) are fatter than I am neti,in fact I weigh less now than I did when I was at school.lol.
I'm not sure whether you can ask for a refund of the subs but its worth asking!

I lost contact with all of my friends at school due to the fact that at age 17 I moved to Bridlington from Leicester and never bothered telling anyone apart from family.lol.
