Does anyone know of any bank cards that 16 year olds are able to use? I have an Abbey one, but most other banks don't have any! Or do you know of any student cards? Thank you

Most banks will allow 16 year olds to have a 'Solo' card, its just like a switch card but no accepted in as many places.
Speak to abbey national and they will open you a new account where you will have a Visa electron and a cheque book visa electron isnt accpeted in ever shop. Dont think about getting a Visa which is accepted worlwide you have to spend over 500 a month or have an overdraft
I had a cash point card at 16. Didn't get Switch until 18 though.
Electron is becoming more and more widely accepted and is definitely available to 16 year olds. Abbey have a range of youth accounts which offer this. As you're under 18, you won't get the proper debit card and also, if your account ever goes even the slightest bit overdrawn your bank will set the hounds on you as you are not at an age where you can be held legally responsible for debt.
Natwest
HSBC
Lloyds TSB
All offer debit cards to 16yr olds
