A replica of the Rugby World Cup would be of interest to most New Zealanders; its a long time since they've seen it! Seriously, though, how about some issues of Country Life, some black pudding, an English Scenes 2005 calendar, some English wine (can recommend www.bozedown.com).
baked beans

English newspaper

bacon (have to be cardboard cut out though meat not allowed)

sausages - ditto above

good sense of humor

black pudding

tripe - in fact fill the case with it

Colman's mustard

jellied eels

English Granny Smith apple - if you can find one here!

loose leaf tea

Be careful what you put in - New Zealand now has very strict import laws and it is now illegal to import many items of plant and animal origin. What about some typically English Sweets - rhoobarb and custard, Jelly Babies etc.
Take a look at the restrictions here....theres loads !!!

Blimey didn't realise that!! Thanks for the tips, forgot to mention she's a veggie, so probably won't worry about the meat side of things - well i can't according to the website anyway. Really like the calendar, mustard, newspaper and english sweeties ideas though, ta.
Just wanted to say - don't bother putting in Cadburys chocolate, they have TONS of it over in NZ, loads more different kinds than we have here, and it tastes just as delish as ours (unlike the dairy milk in Australia, or so I thought when I was there...)
Decent newspapers, decent magazines, (decent tv), biscuits, branded shampoes and smellies (very expensive over there )..anything from Waitrose ... they have lots of english food brands there .. what a nice friend you are !
