Aha! I have the perfect website for you, www.yournotme.com . it has all data from 2001's electoral roll and so you can find out how many people of age 18 plus there were then with your name. I've had so much fun with this site, for example it is worrying how many people's first names are rather rude words...

Then I searched just my surname and it said this, "There are 27951 Letters in all your names put together. That's enough to reach to the moon. Well I say the moon. Look out the window. One thing though - in 2001 I was 18/19, so I should be on it, no? My name returned no results at all.

The electoral register for each year starts on 16th February and runs to 15th February. During the year in which you become 18, your birthday should be listed beside your name so that they can know whether to let you vote (or not). The register is based on forms which are sent out in September/ Octoberish to each household, so it's theoretically possible for someone's name (and Date of birth) to be put on the form when they are only 16 (let alone 17). When the forms are sent out, it sometimes happen that the head of the household (i.e. the parents) do not read the form properly and do not enter the names and/or dates of those who are aged 16 or 17 even if they should. In my electioneering, I have come across a few cases of people who are listed in the year when they became 18, but without the date given, or not listed at all.

P.S. It depends on whether morg_monster was referring to the 2000/2001 register or the 2001/2002 register. Also, some people fall out of the register temporarily if they have changed address during the year.

According to the 2004 electoral role information on UK info disk, there are 5 Brenda Hooleys, and 62 Brenda Hudsons.This is a great piece of software, but not free. I have used it to trace a number of people I have lost contact with.If their phone number is not ex directory you get that as well as the address
