Quick, accurate answer needed desperately please

Hello!

I'm trying to work out how much in diesel it would cost to travel approx 200 miles in a flat bed transit van on today's fuel prices. Just for diesel please.

A bit more info would be usefull ie is it a turbo.
what is the size of the engine,
what is the unladen weight,
are you traveling on a motorway or is it general town work,
what speed will you be travelling at.
without these answers you cannot get an accurate MPG
but as a rough answer to your question, i would say ten gallons.

Sorry logic, I meant how much in �s.

I think the speed is about 50mph and mainly motorway roads. I think it is a 2L engine and I am not sure on the weight of the load but it is not much at all (a couple of bits of very small machinery).

My 1.8L would cost me about �40 to do 200 miles.

So I would say about the same for a diesel with a load. �50 at the most.

Thanks Sally. I am paying a friend of a friend to collect some stuff for me and I am paying his separately but he wants �100 for fuel too !

No way - thats a rip off!! Some friend!! Why not let him set off with a full tank and then when he gets back to pay for it to be filled up again.

Then you would pay for the exact amount.
